Cutting Taxes and Keeping Government Spending in CheckWhen
it comes to making government more efficient and effective, we know we
can trust Bill Seitz. He fought for the largest income tax reduction in
state history, a 21% across the board reduction, to help working Ohioans
keep more of what they earn. Bill Seitz also supported significant state
agency budget cuts to keep Ohio’s budget in balance in a challenging
economy, while protecting funding for children, senior citizens and vital
state services. Bill Seitz believes that when we empower parents and our local schools, we empower our children to succeed in life. That’s why he fought for record funding for our schools, raising educational standards, refocusing attention on core curriculum, and increased funding for non-public schools. Bill Seitz also voted to freeze tuition rates at all state colleges and universities and supported legislation to enhance state-sponsored scholarships and grants for Ohio students. Protecting our CommunitiesOur families deserve the security of safe streets and quiet neighborhoods. Bill Seitz has been a proven leader in the fight against violent crime in our neighborhoods and has supported legislation that imposes tougher penalties on sex predators to keep them off the streets and away from our children. He is dedicated to working with law enforcement to give them the ability to protect our kids from internet predators and other emerging threats. Standing Up for Our SeniorsBill Seitz is concerned about the rising costs of basic necessities for our senior citizens and the effect it has on their welfare. That’s why Bill Seitz supported significant property tax relief for our seniors, so they can afford to stay in the comfort of their own homes. Bill Seitz also helped pass landmark legislation to give our parents and grandparents meaningful relief from the skyrocketing costs of prescription drugs. Creating
Jobs and Revitalizing our Economy As a member of the General Assembly, Bill Seitz has worked hard to protect and create good paying jobs in our area. Recently, Seitz helped pass a major jobs stimulus package that invests $1.57 billion in strategic sectors of our economy such as biomedical research and advanced and renewable energy. Bill Seitz also supported the Ohio Innovation Partnership to help make our State a more attractive place for cutting edge research and the creation of new industries and jobs. |
